Dr. Prasad Ramanathan is a Sr. Director leading the Technology Development activities in the "Group Industrialization Solutions" team of Capgemini India. He heads the initiatives around applications of Automation, Cognitive Computing, Machine Learning for increasing competitiveness of the delivery organization. In his previous role, he was leading the Technology Centers of Excellence evaluating Internet of Things, Advanced Analytics and such other emerging technologies as Augmented Reality, Gesture Recognition, Mobile Computing and Cloud Computing. His previous work experience since 1993 includes major stints at Datamatics, GE Energy, Fisher-Rosemount and Honeywell, USA.
During his spare time, he teaches at engineering and management colleges. Some courses that he teaches include: Artificial Intelligence, IT for Managers, MIS & ERP, Software Project Management, Software Engineering and Chemical Process Control. He is a member of the Research Review Committee in Chemical Engineering at Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai. He is a member of the Department Advisory Board of the IT departments of Vivekananda Education Society’s Institute of Technology in Chembur and Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering in Vile Parle. He is also on the ad hoc Board of Studies at the Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, SNDT Women’s University.
He got all his degrees in Engineering - Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 1993, M.S. from University of Louisville in 1989 and Bachelor's degree from Institute of Chemical Technology (erstwhile UDCT), Mumbai in 1987.
