MBA in Systems Management


The objective of the MBA Systems programme is to provide student with opportunities to pursue a career in industry or entrepreneurship acquiring knowledge, skills and attitudes that give a strong foundation for holding competent and responsible executive positions. The curriculum has been designed to enable the student to develop a thorough knowledge of the basic concepts and techniques for understanding operations management. Further, it aims to enable the student to develop analytical, decision-making and managerial skills required for the industry and be ready to contribute and manage the various operations functions in the current scenario.

PROGRAM DURATION


Two years, Full time - Four semesters

Eligibility

A graduate in any discipline with 50% of marks at graduation for open category and 45% for reserved category, from an Indian University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Selection Procedure

Written test, group discussion and personal interview conducted by Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JDBIMS) or a valid score of any national level test taken during the current academic year.

Reservation of seats

The reservation for admission is as per the Government rules. However, Freeship is decided by the Social Welfare Department of the Govt. of Maharashtra. This is a self-financing programme and hence no freeship is available. The student has to pay the entire fees.

LEARN BY PRACTICE


Research Project – (Duration - One year)

Each student is required to select a research topic and work under the guidance of a mentor from the middle of the second semester. There is a midterm evaluation of the project in the middle of the third semester. A panel of examiners will do the final evaluation of the project. The project carries 200 marks (8 – credits).

Internship

Internships are an important and integral part of the Post-Graduate Programmes, of SNDT Women’s University, where students intern with a chosen organization for 8 weeks after their second and third semesters for Internship I and Internship II respectively.

  • Internship I (Summer):At the end of the second semester, each student of JDBIMS would be required to undertake a project. On the basis of the work done, the candidate will be required to submit a report to the institute. A panel of examiners would evaluate the project work. The project carries 100 marks (4-credits)
  • Internship II (Winter):At the end of the third semester, each student of JDBIMS would be required to undertake a project. On the basis of the work done, the candidate will be required to submit a report to the institute. A panel of examiners would evaluate the project work. The project carries 100 marks (4-credits).


OTHER DETAILS


Attendance: The students are required to have 75% of attendance in each subject, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the final examination of the semester. In case the absence is due to illness, medical certificate will have to be produced immediately for consideration. For Business Communication, a student is expected to attend 75% of the classes/activities failing which a student has to re-register paying an additional fee for this course and complete it before she is eligible to complete the programme and participate in any placement activity.
